Soil restoration, water conservation and natural construction are the foundation of our work in Dhamapur. Every structure and plot is shaped by the place it stands in, and by the residents who build and tend it together.
Our projects show that a sustainable livelihood can thrive directly within a village, without leaving the land or the community behind.
Current initiatives
Three practical projects
Work in progress on the Dhamapur center, carried out by residents with the materials the region provides.
Water
Water harvesting
Rainwater is collected, channelled and held on the land so that the monsoon sustains the plots and wells through the dry season.
Flora
Native flora preservation
Indigenous trees and plants are protected, propagated and replanted, restoring the local ecology that supports soil, pollinators and food.
Craft
Rural craft workshops
Shared workshops teach making and repair with timber, clay and stone, so that skills stay in the village and serve its daily needs.
Local materials
Walls, paths and shelters are built from regional laterite and timber, shaped by hand and repaired by the people who use them.
