About "University of Life"
The “University of Life” is a residential community center for experiential, lifelong learning and sustainable living, located in the village of Dhamapur in Maharashtra, India. We believe that true education is deeply connected to our Mother Earth and that no one should be forced to leave their village for the sake of education or livelihood. In ages past, our villages were home to excellent architects, healers, and great minds who never had to leave their soil. Our purpose is to rekindle that self-sufficiency.
Our Vision
Inspired by the teachings of Dr. Srinath Kalbag, we are a community dedicated to a learning process that goes beyond traditional education. Our goal isn’t just to provide vocational skills, but to use real-life activities as a medium for spiritual self-evolution and the development of social entrepreneurship skills. We are guided by the principles of ecological sustainability and social justice, seeking to build a society where people can thrive while remaining connected to their roots.
Our Inspiration
Our vision was brought to life by Dr. Srinath Kalbag, a man who connected science with spirituality. We are also guided by his wife, Meera Kalbag, whom we lovingly call “Amma,” and our spiritual master, Mr. Subhashchandra Desai, fondly known as “Dadaji,” whose blessings are a book of wisdom.
We invite all who thirst for progress and aspire to a higher, more authentic life to join our community and learn with us.
